On shining trails of steel it rode
Upon its wheels, a heavy load
Across the distant plains in stride
And 'round the rugged mountainside
Through narrow tunnels, bridges tall
A land so vast, it seemed so small
And on into the dusk it went
For miles and miles with no relent
But lest the sun would yield its light
Its rays reveal a wondrous sight
Of endless valleys, ever green
Of pristine brooks so rarely seen
Of deer and bear and even moose
