OF STRENGTH AND PRIDE by Dieter Carlton,
a poem for which he wrote as follows:

It's PRIDE that often gives us STRENGTH
And what we need to go the length

Especially during times of stress
When often under sheer duress

But when it comes to feelings now
From PRIDE we must now take a bow

Else what instead would make us strong
Could also make us do things wrong

So while our STRENGTH from PRIDE may come
Our friends and those we love will run

When PRIDE holds up its rusty shield
And empathy they need won't yield

Indeed, let not our feelings hide
From all the laws OF STRENGTH AND PRIDE
