Description
This Tattered Land by Dieter Carlton, a poem for which he wrote as follows ...
What happened here so long ago?
A massive quake or melting snow?
How could so vast a desert plane
Fall into such a deep terrain
A mighty canyon all alone
With endless cliffs of sculpted stone
A restless river through it runs
And with it, spoilage by the tons
Above it clouds in broken rows
Cast shadows dancing in repose
Indeed, a treasure in the sand
Let's not forsake THIS TATTERED LAND
As with all of Dieter's digital art, this was produced using Maya, DAZ Studio and Bryce. It is not a photograph, there are no photographs embedded within the image nor were any photographs used in creating it. It is also NOT a screen shot nor was it derived from any other sources such as video games or studio animations. It is an original work created exclusively in a virtual space on a personal computer (like forming a clay sculpture or building a studio set in one's backyard or garage). Each such work takes 30 to 50 hours to complete.
