I took some time to stroll about
On wooded trails my favorite route
To whistle with the birds above
Their happy calls for courtship love
To hear the whisper of a breeze
Which passes gently through the trees
And from the distance also hear
And louder still as I come near
The waters of a forest brook
To which I walked to take a look
And through the thickets I could see
A buck, but brief, behind a tree
Then 'cross an open field it hops

Dieter Carlton is a well-known American artist whose works have won numerous top awards in top-rated art shows and venues throughout the U.S., as well as world-wide web art contests.
