Erosion is a natural thing
Which all the rains and winds will bring

Like little sculptors everywhere
They chisel here and whittle there

To form such shapes of every kind
In ways that truly blow the mind

From rugged mountains standing tall
To rolling hills and that's not all

They form the valleys, river beds
And all the other watersheds

But in a soft artistic way
As if they have a thing to say

Perhaps to conjure up this rhyme
Of the ageless PATTERNS OF TIME

Dieter Carlton is a well-known American artist whose works have won numerous top awards in top-rated art shows and venues throughout the U.S., as well as world-wide web art contests. He is also an award-winning cartoonist and has appeared in many popular artist publications. Carlton is particularly recognized for his detailed knowledge of structural elements and the many scientific aspects of art and is called upon to perform lecture tours on this highly esoteric subject.
