Description
THE EYE OF NEPTUNE by Dieter Carlton
... a poem for which the artist wrote as follows
Along the rugged ocean coasts
Where many ships gave up their ghosts
There stands upon the highest ground
Its lamp revolving all around
A sturdy tower very tall
A beacon to our sailors all
Indeed much like a castle keep
With sentries there that never sleep
Through fog and storm, a rainy day
Its shiny beam would show the way
Against the crashing waves it would
Not ever budge from where its stood
For tides could not resist the moon
Nor darken THE EYE OF NEPTUNE
