Description
BENEATH THE GILDED CROWNS by Dieter Carlton
a poem for which the artist wrote as follows ...
As clouds would paint the morning sky
The sun through which on mountains high
Would cast its glowing rays of light
Against the sylvan slopes so bright
Alas I see the earth so grand
A vast and rugged, virgin land
With colors, shapes of every kind
The likes of which can soothe the mind
Above the lake with fluid grace
A flock of birds in desperate race
And on the shoreline squirrels in play
As ducks and ducklings swim away
Indeed I waxed in total awe
So thankful of the things I saw
While resting on these untamed grounds
Way down BENEATH THE GILDED CROWNS
